Since 1993, Alaska Chadux Network has responded to over 130 pollution incidents in locations across Northern, Western, Central, and Interior Alaska, participated in hundreds of drills and exercises in support of our participants, and supported numerous drilling exploration programs. Some notable responses and events include:

    Alaska Chadux Corporation becomes incorporated.

  • Dec 3, 2020

    1996

    Chadux response activated in response to the M/V Kuroshima running aground in Summer Bay, AK, spilling 39,000 gallons of heavy fuel oil.

  • Dec 3, 2020

    1999

    Chadux response activated when an Alaska Railroad train derailed at mile 272, spilling 12,500 gallons of jet fuel into creeks, beaver ponds, and wetlands.

  • Dec 3, 2020

    2004

    Chadux response is activated after the M/V Selendang Ayu runs aground in Unalaska, spilling 336,600 gallons of oil and 66,000 tons of soybeans into the water and shore – the worst disaster since Exxon Valdez.

    2009

    Chadux response activated when the M/V Monarch sinks in Cook Inlet, with over 34,603 gallons of diesel fuel and lube oil onboard.

  • 2010

    After nearly 20 years of operation, Chadux receives the prestigious United States Coast Guard Osprey Benkert Award for Environmental Protection.

  • 2011

    The Alaska Maritime Prevention &  Response Network is founded and incorporated.

  • 2012

    The Network's tank vessel Alternative Planning Criteria (APC) is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.

  • 2012

    Chadux responds to the drilling rig KULLUK grounding on Kodiak Island.

  • 2013

    The Network's nontank vessel APC is approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.

  • 2014

    The Network becomes a member of Chadux.

    The Network establishes 24/7 vessel monitoring and support systems throughout Alaska operated by the Marine Exchange of Alaska. 

  • 2014

    Chadux responds to the tank farm spill in McGrath, Alaska.

  • 2015

    The Network's research and development arm field tests the Para Sea Anchor in Puget Sound, WA.

    The Network receives the prestigious North America Marine Environmental Protection Association (NAMEPA) Marine Environmental Protection Award.

  • 2016

    The Network receives the prestigious Safer, Cleaner Sea Awards from Lloyd's List.

  • 2017

    The 24/7 Monitoring Center is re-located to an upgraded facility with state-of-the-art tracking and monitoring systems.

  • 2018

    Chadux responds to the remote Shuyak Island spill.

  • 2019

    The Network's research and development arm field tests the Emergency Vessel Attachment & Towing System (EVATS™) in Sortland, Norway.

  • 2020

    The Network receives the prestigious United States Coast Guard Osprey Benkert Award for Environmental Protection.

    Chadux and The Network merge organizations to become the Alaska Chadux Network.
