24/7 MONITORING

Alaska’s vast and sensitive marine environment demands constant vigilance and situational awareness. The Alaska Chadux̂ Network’s 24/7 Monitoring Center, based in Anchorage, Alaska, provides continuous oversight and rapid response capabilities to ensure the safety of Alaska’s waters, coastlines, and communities.

By integrating real-time vessel data, predictive analytics, and environmental intelligence, the Monitoring Center allows for fast, informed decision-making that prevents incidents and minimizes potential impacts. Whether supporting vessels, facilities, or land-based transport, the center plays a critical role in protecting Alaska’s fragile ecosystems from oil spill threats and helping our vessel member companies remain in compliance with federal response plan regulations.

Proactive Protection, Smarter Response

Backed by decades of experience, STARS is designed to prevent oil spills before they happen and optimize emergency response when they do.

Anchorage-based Watchstanders are equipped with monitoring tools like electronic watchdogs and geofencing alerts, instantly notifying vessel operators, the U.S. Coast Guard, and response teams when risk indicators arise.

This proactive stance supports compliance and reinforces a culture of environmental responsibility across Alaska’s maritime industry.

Response Assistance

The Monitoring Center plays a pivotal role during emergencies—supporting vessels in distress and preventing environmental hazards. We assist in:

  • Tracking and monitoring distressed vessels
  • Identifying nearby response-capable tugs and vessels
  • Locating Good Samaritan vessels
  • Providing contact info for OSROs, salvage, and marine firefighting providers
