UNPARALLELED CAPABILITIES

Unparalleled Capabilities for Alaska Oil Spill Prevention and Response

The Alaska Chadux Network is an award-winning, industry-led nonprofit. Because of our nearly 3 decades of Alaska experience, our prevention and response capabilities are unmatched. Firstly, our resources are strategically placed and regionally appropriate. We quickly deploy them virtually anywhere across the state. Secondly, our 24/7 vessel monitoring center is staffed by the Marine Exchange of Alaska. Those watchstanders are constantly tracking vessels to ensure safety. Additionally, we offer training and incident preparedness drills to bolster statewide response capabilities. Overall, we offer unparalleled capabilities and resources to our enrollees and subscribers. As a result, those efforts demonstrate that we are committed to safety, excellence, and protecting the shared use maritime and terrestrial environments of the Last Frontier.

Strategic Resources & Response Hubs

Strategic Resources & Response Hubs

We provide unparalleled capabilities, which include 17 strategic response hubs located around the state. Each hub contains a suite of resources necessary for mounting a swift response in that region. Those resources include boats, pumps, boom, and other equipment. The equipment at those hubs is easily transportable to the site of an incident by plane or helicopter, resulting in our coverage and support being deployable statewide.

Incident Response & Preparedness Training

Incident Response & Preparedness Training

The best incidents never happen. However, when they do, it's important to be prepared. We offer incident response plan development,  certifications, and training exercises with years of experience behind them. In other words, our training and exercises ensure that your organization has the know-how and expertise needed to respond to almost any incident. It's just another one of the unparalleled capabilities that set us apart.

24/7 Vessel Monitoring

24/7 Vessel Monitoring

Alaska's maritime environment presents unique challenges. Vessel masters and ship operators will often face changing weather conditions, massive tides, and severe storms. Those conditions can wreak havoc on ships of any size. But because of the dedicated watchstanders of the Marine Exchange of Alaska, virtually every single vessel transit through Alaska waters is monitored and tracked. At our 24/7 Vessel Monitoring Center, watchstanders contact vessels in distress, and anticipate incidents before they occur by tracking weather systems and vessel positioning. Their unparalleled capabilities in tracking and monitoring result in increased safety for all vessels transiting Alaska waters.

Essential Equipment & Response VesselsEssential Equipment & Response Vessels

We own or have contracted a number of incident response vessels across Alaska. These ships are deployable across the state at a moments' notice. Additionally, our Vessel of Opportunity (VOO) Program allows vessels close to an incident to be dispatched to assist immediately with the response. Combined with our suite of response equipment, our accident prevention and response capabilities are simply unparalleled.
